Windshield & Glass Replacement Services
Our Windshield & Glass Replacement Services involve the repair or replacement of damaged or broken glass components on a vehicle, such as the windshield, side windows, rear window, or mirrors. Our services are typically necessary after accidents, vandalism, or normal wear and tear, and they are crucial for maintaining both the safety and aesthetics of a vehicle.
Windshield Replacement:
- Inspection of Damage: Our technicians inspect the windshield to determine whether it can be repaired or needs to be fully replaced. Cracks longer than a certain length (usually 6 inches) or in the driver’s direct line of sight often require replacement.
- Removing the Old Windshield: The damaged windshield is carefully removed using specialized tools to avoid further damage to the frame or the surrounding body.
- Preparing the Frame: The frame where the windshield sits (called the pinch weld) is cleaned and prepped to ensure a secure fit for the new glass.
- Applying Adhesive: A specialized automotive adhesive or urethane is applied to the edge of the new windshield to bond it securely to the vehicle’s frame.
- Installing the New Windshield: The new windshield is placed and properly aligned to ensure a perfect fit. The adhesive is then left to cure, securing the windshield firmly in place.
Side and Rear Window Replacement:
- Window Removal: Similar to windshield replacement, the damaged side or rear window is carefully removed.
- Glass Cleaning and Frame Prep: Any debris from broken glass is cleaned, and the window frame or track is inspected for any additional damage.
- New Glass Installation: A new glass pane is fitted into place, whether it’s the side window, rear window, or quarter glass. Adhesives, seals, or clips are used to secure the glass, depending on the window type.
